| Noah Saunders creates wire
sculptures of human figures in both miniature and larger-than-life size.
He is a member of a family of artists his father, Jim Saunders, works in
mixed media, and Jim's wife, Annette Pate, works in oil on canvas and
acrylic on paper. Noah began to create sculpture as a child. As a young
adult he has had several successful shows.
More recently
paintings and prints outnumber his three-dimensional
works. However, Saunders has
been working with more live models for his signature wire sculptures, a
move he says has greatly improved the work. And while Saunders' tone
shifts from struggle to celebration, his art is still essentially an
exploration of the human form.
